Great new features

By Lance B. Wilkins
QuickBooks Pro 2009 is really a great program for small business. I skimmed the negative reviews and seems like they center around online banking. That’s a feature I don’t use but have heard complaints about. QuickBooks says major revisions by end of the year.
But, besides online banking – If you use the accountants copy feature with your accountant-much improved! Before if something wasn’t right when the changes came back, no import. Everything had to be done by hand. Now, with QuickBooks Pro 2009, everything will import except the ‘problem’ transaction.
The bar with the Customer, Vendor, Employee centers couldn’t be changed before, now it can.
In QuickBooks Pro 2009 you can backup in multi-user mode! That’s a big one if you have multiple users.
Another big one is being able to print receipts from the Receive Payment function. Before you could receive a customers payment, but there was no way to print a receipt from QB. You had to have another option.
Other features like importing invoices from Adobe, and the new IM are good.
Almost forgot – Multiple Currencies. The feature works great.

I’ve been using QuickBooks for many years. Some years the new features are better than others. My feeling was that this year was one of the years the new features really made the software upgrade a good deal.

Crisis Over! Online Banking Feature – Better than Ever

By K. Hipple
Intuit has now fixed the Online Banking in QuickBooks Pro 2009 version. Update #8 really did the trick. Now you can choose between the new QuickBooks Pro 2009 interface and the old 2008 “register view”.

I use the revived Online Banking register view extensively for my point of sale clients. Point of sale clients have multiple deposits. One particular client deposits his cash and checks every day. I map his cash and check payments to go into the cash in drawer account in POS. Then I made an alias for the deposits to go there too. With QuickBooks Pro 2009 my client does not have to click anything in the deposit window or in his download window. It just moves in like lightening. Then he reconciles the Cash In Drawer account – a very quick process.

We are so happy!! I know that Intuit originally intended to stick with the new interface and not go back to the old one. But thank you, Intuit, for returning it. The 2008 interface is like a long lost friend! At the same time, I have a client who has gotten used to the QuickBooks Pro 2009 interface and wouldn’t want to go back. So you’ve managed to keep all my clients happy!! Wow!

I had been afraid to upgrade some of my clients to QuickBooks Pro 2009 because learning the new download interface would have caused them TOO much grief. But now I can do it with confidence and start using all those wonderful new accountant features. I recommend this software – just be sure to install all the updates!

Still a great product

This purchase is an upgrade, but I highly recommend QuickBooks Pro 2009. It is very user friendly from other accounting software I have tried. I have been using it for about 10 years. I never had any formal accounting training, the QuickBooks Pro 2009 program interviews you and helps you chose based upon your individual business. I do all my own quarterlies and payroll now. Buying QuickBooks Pro 2009 through amazon saved me about $100.00
